I spend a fair amount of time studying Celtic culture, langauge, philosophy, history. I have lived in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and have Irish roots. Though I painted this work while living in the American West, I draw connection and parallel to aspects of the land.
This painting series responds to time spent in landscape, attending to the range of color throughout the hours of the day. Landscape and nature fuel my painting process, and these little works are about loosely capturing the essence of the land.
