I took a 5 day journey to Taos and back again. The landscape carried me through every step- the reds of Utah, the golds of Eastern Oregon, the essence of New Mexico. I returned to create many paintings in response. In my "Largescale Paintings" you can view "TAOS," a 72"x72" painting on canvas. This little work is the small companion piece to the larger one.
This series responds to time spent in western landscape, attending to the range of color throughout the hours of the day. Landscape and nature fuels my painting process, and these little works are about loosely capturing the essence of the land.
