Manzanita, Oregon is my favorite Oregon Coastal town. The ocean, the sand, the grasses, Neahkahnie Mountain, the kind people- it has become a second home. This series responds to time spent in western landscape, and this piece in particular, to the feel of the Manzanita waters, attending to the range of color throughout the hours of the day. Landscape and nature fuel my painting process, and these little works are about loosely capturing the essence of the land.
